Ask these five questions before you book

Are events with non-staying guests allowed, and up to how many people?
Is there an event fee, and what security deposit applies?
What time does outdoor music have to stop? Is indoor music allowed later?
Does the gated community require guest lists or vehicle registration in advance?
Are external staff — DJ, bartenders, chef, security — permitted on site?

How gated communities differ

Cap Cana and Punta Cana Resort & Club are strictly managed: guest lists, vehicle access control and firm music curfews. Bavaro and Los Corales are more mixed, with some standalone villas that are far more permissive.

The practical implication is that the venue decision and the party plan have to be made together. A great villa with a 10pm curfew is a bad villa for a 40-person birthday.
