How much it costs to rent a yacht in Punta Cana

By Punta Party Editorial Team · Published August 8, 2026 · Updated August 8, 2026

The short answer

A private yacht in Punta Cana costs roughly USD 450-900 for a 4-hour charter on a 35-45ft boat (up to 12 guests), USD 1,200-2,200 for a 50-60ft yacht, and USD 2,500+ for larger flybridge yachts. Fuel and crew are usually included; drinks, tips and marina fees often are not.

Price by boat size

Charters in Punta Cana are priced by the boat and the block of time, not per person. The number below is the whole boat.

What the base rate usually includes

  • Captain and crew
  • Fuel for the standard route (Cap Cana to Palmilla or Saona-direction cruising)
  • Ice, cooler, basic soft drinks and water
  • Snorkel gear on most boats
  • Bluetooth sound system

What is usually extra

  • Alcohol and premium bar setups
  • Crew tip, customarily 10-15%
  • Marina or port fees on some docks
  • Hotel transfers to and from the marina
  • Photographer, decor, DJ or floating mats

Per-person maths

A 45ft yacht at USD 750 for four hours across 10 people is USD 75 each — comparable to a shared party boat ticket, but private. That crossover is why we push most groups of eight or more straight to a private charter. Below six people, a shared catamaran usually still wins on price.

How to lower the price without lowering the day

  • Take a weekday slot; Saturday carries a real premium.
  • Choose the 10am-2pm block instead of sunset in high season.
  • Bring your own alcohol where the operator allows it — the markup on board is the biggest single saving.
  • Book four hours rather than six; most groups are done before hour five anyway.

Frequently asked questions

Is the price per person or per boat?
Per boat. Divide by your group size for the real per-head cost.
Can we bring our own drinks?
On most private charters yes, and it is the cheapest way to run the bar. A few operators charge a corkage-style fee; we flag it on the quote.
How many hours do we actually need?
Four is the sweet spot for a party charter. Six makes sense only if you are heading toward Saona or Catalina.
What happens if the weather turns?
Captains cancel for safety and reputable operators reschedule or refund. Confirm that policy in writing before paying a deposit.
